Педикюр — не только эстетика: почему он должен быть регулярным

Вросший ноготь, мозоли и грибок — чаще всего предотвратимые проблемы.

A pedicure is often squeezed into the summer months. Yet feet deal with closed shoes, pressure and damp for all twelve — the season they need care most is winter.

Three things a regular pedicure prevents

*Ingrown nails.* Cutting nails rounded at the corners is the number one cause. In a pedicure the nail is cut straight and the corners are filed only enough to take off the sharpness. For guests who suffer from them, regular pedicures largely resolve the problem.

*Calluses and hardening.* A callus is a warning: that spot is taking too much pressure. Removing it matters, but so does discussing why it formed — shoes, posture, arch support. Removal alone brings the same callus back in six weeks.

*Fungal risk.* The key protection is sterilisation. We use a separate autoclaved set for every guest, and files are single-use. There is no flexibility on this.

How often?

Every four to six weeks on average. Shorter for guests who are on their feet all day, who train, or who have diabetes.

A note on diabetes

For guests with diabetes a pedicure is not a cosmetic service but a treatment requiring care. We don't use cutting tools, we don't aggressively remove callus, and we stop at the smallest risk of a wound. With a history of foot ulcers we don't proceed without medical clearance.

Two habits at home

Drying between the toes after a shower (fungus's favourite spot) and a foot moisturiser once a week. Most heel cracks close with those two steps before they open.

Can gel polish be added?

Yes, and on toenails it lasts longer than on hands — four to six weeks. Even so, we suggest leaving them bare for a couple of weeks now and then.

Pedicure is one of the treatments we bring to your home.
