The sentence we hear most at lash appointments is: "Which of the two would suit me better?" The answer usually lies in your eye shape, not your lashes.
What is a lash lift?
Your own lashes are curled from the root and set, then tinted and treated with a nourishing care step. No extensions, no weight, no infill appointments. It lasts six to eight weeks — roughly one natural lash cycle.
What are silk lash extensions?
A silk fibre, slightly longer than your own, is attached to each natural lash one by one. It adds volume and length, and needs an infill every three weeks.
Which suits which eye?
*On eyes whose lashes point straight down*, a lift works almost like magic; the moment the lashes rise, the eye visibly opens. On the same eye, extensions can look flatter than expected because the fibres follow the direction of the natural lash.
*On eyes with lashes that already curl but are sparse*, a lift makes little difference — the curl is there, the density isn't. Extensions are the right choice here.
*On hooded eyes*, very long fibres touch the lid and make the eye look more closed. You need short-to-medium lengths increasing toward the outer corner. A lift also works well, as long as the curl isn't too sharp.
*On almond eyes*, both give a lovely result; the decision comes down to your maintenance habits.
The aftercare difference matters
Extensions dislike oil-based cleansers and sleeping face-down in the pillow. They mean an appointment every three weeks. A lift releases you completely 24 hours after application; nothing in your routine changes.
Guests who travel, who are in a hurry in the mornings or who don't enjoy makeup usually settle on a lift. For those who want a defined gaze and can keep regular appointments, extensions are more satisfying.
