A lash lift raises and sets your own lashes from the root. It takes about 45 minutes in the studio — but what decides the result is the 24 hours after you leave.
Why 24 hours?
During the treatment the bonds inside the lash are first softened, reshaped and then set. Even though setting is chemically complete, the new shape needs time to settle. Within that first day, contact with water and steam can partly relax the curl.
Avoid in the first 24 hours
- Washing your face with hot water — lukewarm, without touching the lashes, is enough.
- Showers, saunas, hammams, steam. Steam is the critical one.
- Mascara and eye makeup. Removing it means rubbing, which disturbs the curl.
- Sleeping face-down. A lash pressed into the pillow that first night can take a permanent bend.
- Rubbing or scratching the eyes.
The routine after the first week
There isn't one, and that's the beauty of it. You can wear mascara (water-based preferred), wash your face normally, swim in the sea and pool. Use a lash serum in the evenings if you like; it nourishes the lash and extends the lift.
How long does it last?
Six to eight weeks. That's tied to the natural lash cycle: even if you do nothing, old lashes shed and straight new ones replace them. This is why the fading feels gradual rather than sudden.
Who is it not suitable for?
On very short lashes the curl doesn't find enough surface and the result may fall short of expectations. If you recently had extensions removed, wait a few weeks for the lashes to recover. Any active irritation, allergy or infection around the eye means postponing.
Should you add a tint?
On light lashes, tinting multiplies the effect of the lift. On dark lashes the difference is smaller, but we still recommend it because it defines the tips.
